DAY 1- Thursday Flight to Rome

The excitement begins with an overnight flight to Rome. Ask about Perillo’s low airfares to Italy. You are also free to book your own flights.

DAY 2- Friday Rome, Italy

Benvenuti in Italia! Whether you purchased your ticket through Perillo, or on your own, we’re happy to pick you up at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport for the approximate 1 hour ride to the port of Civitavecchia.

A blast of the Splendida’s horn signals the start of our adventure! By now, you’ve had a personal orientation of the Yacht Club and learned the features of your suite. Some of us don’t have butlers at home, so go ahead – have him unpack you bags, shine your shoes and bring you an extra-dry martini. A person could get used to this!

DAY 3 - Saturday Genoa, Italy

This morning we sail into the beautiful port city of Genoa. With a full day ahead of us the options are many. The Genoa Aquarium is the 2nd largest in Europe. The quaint seaside village of Portofino is just a 1/2 hour away. Or head to “Piazza dei Ferrari,” the historical
center of Genoa. Your Yacht Club concierge or cruise director will have a multitude of interesting activities.

DAY 4- Sunday Marseille, France

Cézanne, Braque, Derain, Dufy and Marquet have all lived in France’s “second city” and been inspired by its beauties. Explore Marseille itself or visit the seaside gem, Cassis, a quieter version of St. Tropez. Also close by is Avignon, so lovely that Pope Clement V spent his entire papacy there.

DAY 5- Monday Barcelona, Spain

This morning you wake up to the joys of Barcelona, the grand capital of Catalonia. You must see the work of her most famous architect Gaudi. Also of great interest is Montserrat with its famous Benedictine Monastery. Or, ask your concierge about catching a Flamenco Show. Ole!

DAY 6- Tuesday La Goulette, Tunis

Welcome to Africa and exotic Tunisia! The capital of Tunisia actually consists of three cities: the modern Capital City of the Tunisian Republic, Medina and Carthage. Filled with Arabic, Spanish and Roman history, you’ll learn the importance of this city from Hannibal’s time, down to today. But be back in time for dinner, a great show and then . . . shall we meet in the Liquid Disco?

DAY 7- Wednesday La Valletta, Malta

Malta’s tiny capitol, La Valletta, is a World Heritage site and nothing short of an open air museum. It is a living experience of Baroque architecture. The city is dotted with quaint cafes and wine bars. Tour the city, relax on the beach, or swim with the dolphins. You’ll
quickly fall in love with this little known Mediterranean gem.

DAY 8- Thursday Messina, Italy

Messina is a gateway to the best of Sicily. A short distance away is the gorgeous hilltop resort town of Taormina, as well as the majestic (and still active) volcano, Mt. Etna. Or see the charming village of Tindari, home of the “Black Madonna.” As always you can chose to sightsee, shop or just relax.

DAY 9- Friday Rome, Italy

This morning it’s farewell to our new cruising friends, our Yacht Club staff, and yes, sadly our butler! To soften the blow, we’ll whisk you from the pier to downtown Rome where you’ll relax for 2 days at Perillo’s own Rose Garden Palace Hotel.

After check-in you can stroll our fancy via Veneto neighborhood to leafy Borghese Park, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, all within a 15 minute walk. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own. Why not try the Rose Garden’s scrumptious La Rosetta Restaurant? Or grab a pizza and a Peroni just around the corner.

DAY 10- Saturday Rome, Italy

Saturdays in Rome are quite peaceful because there’s no commuter congestion. Yet all the tourism sites are open! Ask our concierge for ideas on how to spend your final day of this magnificent vacation. You can enjoy a city tour of Rome and the Vatican, or take a delightful day trip to Orvieto. Tonight, toast yourselves to a truly great travel experience and to memories that will last a lifetime.

DAY 11- Sunday Depart Rome for USA
