Then to Lugano (Switzerland), charmingly situated on Lake Lugano and next Como, the place loved by the rich and famous for centuries. We're off to Verona, home of "Romeo and Juliet" and on to Venice with its awesome Grand Canal. Then, it's off to Padua to visit the Basilica where the remains of St. Anthony are interred. Enjoy Florence, the fountainhead of the Renaissance and Pisa, the home of the incredible Leaning Tower. Stay in Sorrento and delight in the leisurely island of Capri. Marvel at Pompeii, the city of ruins dug out from the ashes rained on it by Vesuvius. Then to Naples, a city bursting with life, and finally Rome, the Eternal City, where you will visit places like the Vatican and the grandiose Colosseum. Depart Rome for the USA after fourteen stupendous days in the lovely land of Italy!
Off-Season Departures Begin your tour with two nights in Lugano, Switzerland. On to Venice, where you'll spend two storybook nights. On our way from Venice to Florence, a short but inspiring visit to Padua. The next three nights' accommodations will be in the romantic city of Florence. From Florence, we travel a short distance to visit Pisa. Back to Florence, perhaps to visit a typical Tuscan winery. Next, we motor south to Sorrento for our next two nights. Along the way, a visit to Pompeii, the city of ruins dug out from the ashes rained on it by Mt Vesuvius. Sorrento is advantageously located over steep cliffs offering fantastic views over the Bay of Naples. Sheer pleasure. We'll also enjoy a visit to the world's most enchanting island, Capri. Finally - three glorious nights in Rome. We'll visit St. Peter's Basilica, The Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum and so much more.
