Cana
|
The town of Cana, five miles from Nazareth, is said to be where Jesus performed the miracle of changing water into wine at a wedding, as well as another miracle in which he healed the son of an official. Today it is the first miracle that is celebrated most, and there are two churches commemorating the event here. Modern Cana is a charming town with a large sundial in the center of it, inhabited by both Christians and Muslims. Whether this is the same Cana mentioned in the New Testament is, of course, a subject of some speculation. |
