Begin your tour with two nights in Lugano, Switzerland, one of the most popular travel destinations in all of Switzerland.

Next, we motor south to Sorrento for our next two nights. Along the way, a visit to Pompeii, the city of ruins dug out from the ashes rained on it by Mt. Vesuvius and now perfectly preserved as it was 2,000 years ago! Sorrento is advantageously located over steep cliffs offering fantastic views over the Bay of Naples. Sheer pleasure. We’ll also enjoy a visit to the world’s most enchanting island, Capri.

This afternoon you’ll have a chance to “get lost” in the city’s labyrinth of canals, bridges and tiny piazzas. Being a small island, it’s impossible to stray very far. But it won’t hurt to master the phrase “Dov’e’ Piazza San Marco?”
Tonight we thought you’d enjoy a dinner on your own. Ask your tour guide for a recommendation, or simply relax and enjoy your hotel restaurant. BB
Day 6 Venice, Padua, Florence, Dinner in Hotel

Our visit culminates in the Sistine Chapel, the room where the Pope is elected. We enter in total silence, not wanting to disturb Michelangelo’s famed frescoes depicting stories from the Bible and the “End of Times.”
We’ll also visit St. Peter’s Basilica. We’ll see Michelangelo’s Pieta, sculpted when he was just 24, and Bernini’s seven-story bronze canopy soaring high above the main altar.

Barry and Barbara B.
From Baltimore MD
The afternoon that we arrived in Rome on our Perillo Tour, we settled into our lovely room at our Hotel Cicerone and then went off to explore the city. We were to meet some friends later on at St. Peter's Basilica. They told us to meet them at 5 PM at the "big door on the right as you are facing the church". When we arrived, there were hundreds of people straining to get through that door, but no one was using the door on the left.
"Why not just go through this door?" we asked our friends. "Then we won't have to crowd through the other one." It was then that they pointed to the sign above the door: Sacra Puerta, it said-the sacred door. We had arrived in Rome during the Jubilee celebration, the one year in twenty-five when the Sacred Door is opened and all who go through it are blessed.
Even though we are not Catholic, we are also not people to pass up a blessing whenever we can get one! We lined up along with the rest of the pilgrims to receive ours.

From Tappan, NY
We just returned from Italy on your 14-day Northern Italy Classic Tour and want to tell you what a fabulous time we had. This being our first experience abroad, we were apprehensive, but with the expert guidance and reassurance of our tour director, Elaine Leopizzi, we were able to relax and immerse ourselves in all that Italy had to offer.
We would like to compliment you and your company for employing such a wonderful staff -- from the gentleman who greated us at the airport, our bus driver Giorgio, all the tour guides and again especially, Elaine.
We look forward to traveling with Perillo Tours again!
