DAY 1 (Sunday) - Depart USA
Boarding our overnight flight, we’re off on an adventure that most can only dream about. Buon viaggio!
DAY 2 (Monday) - Arrive in Naples, Dinner in Hotel
Napoli! Set on the sapphire seas of her sparkling bay. Watched over by majestic Vesuvius, whose awesome volcanic power is, thankfully, in repose.
We are pleased to offer complimentary airport transfers from Naples Capodichino Airport to your hotel at scheduled times. Your Perillo representative will be on hand to greet you.
This afternoon you’re free to wander, shop, sip cappuccino, whetting our appetites for what’s to come. This evening we enjoy a welcome drink followed by dinner at our hotel with great local wines. D
DAY 3 (Tuesday) - Naples, Capri, Dinner Out
Naples at our stern, Capri at our bow, this morning we cross the Bay of Naples to the world’s most enchanting island. We promise you’ll be captivated by the charms of Capri. Later this afternoon we sail back for a great dinner out with our tour guide and new friends! BB, D
DAY 4 (Wednesday) - Naples, Pompeii, Florence, Dinner in Hotel
This morning we’re off to Pompeii! A city perfectly preserved as it was on that fateful day 2,000 years ago, when ash and lava literally stopped life in its tracks. You’ll see the tragic fossils of people attempting to escape along with their children and dogs.
Back to the present, we’re off to Florence via the Highway of the Sun. As we traverse the hilly countryside to the capital of Tuscany, we’re reminded of the geniuses who traveled this very path long before us - Dante. daVinci. Michelangelo. Galileo. Botticelli. It reads like a “Who’s Who” of brilliance.
Tonight, we’ll relax with our friends for dinner and wine at our hotel. BB, D
DAY 5 (Thursday) - Florence, City Sightseeing
Florence - the fountainhead of the Renaissance, awaits our inspection!
Our full day of sightseeing includes an extensive tour of the Uffizi gallery, one of the oldest and most important art museums in the world, including Botticelli’s famed Primavera and The Birth of Venus.
We’ll visit the majestic Duomo built in 1296, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery with its renowned “Gates of Paradise” doors. We follow the medieval streets to the most striking square in Florence, Piazza della Signoria and an external view of Santa Croce Church,
Michelangelo’s final resting place.
Next, cameras out for a breathtaking panorama of the city atop Piazzale Michelangelo.
Tonight your tour guide will suggest a favorite Florentine restaurant to enjoy on your own. BB
DAY 6 (Friday) - Florence, Excursion to Venice with Lunch, Florence
This morning we’re off for a day trip to Venice! New York has its Fifth Avenue, Paris its Champs Elysees, but Venice tops them all with its Grand Canal – the great water road filled with gondolas, motorboats and peppermint stick moorings. Your guide will show you all the sights – St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica and the Bridge of Sighs.
We’ll enjoy a special lunch in Venice renowned for its seafood specialties. This evening we return to Florence for dinner on your own. BB, L
DAY 7 (Saturday) - Florence, Wine Tasting with Lunch, Rome
This morning we’re off to Rome, with one mouthwatering stop! We’ll visit a typical countryside winery for a tour, a tasting, and a delectable lunch. At this point, it might occur to you to desert the tour and live out your days in Italy. Sorry. Your guide will be counting heads back on the coach! We’ll soon check into our hotel in Rome for a relaxing evening on our own. BB, L
DAY 8 (Sunday) - Rome, Sightseeing Ancient Rome, Dinner In Hotel
Hail Caesar! All aboard our chariot for a panoramic tour of Imperial Rome including the Roman Forum, Largo Argentina (where Caesar was stabbed by Brutus), the Jewish Ghetto and the Circus Maximus. Then we’ll enter the Colosseum, reliving the brutal entertainment
of the gladiators and the lions, refereed by the Emperor himself.
Tonight we’ll relive our adventures with a great dinner at our hotel. BB, D
DAY 9 (Monday) - Rome, St. Peter’s Basilica & the Sistine Chapel, Dinner in Hotel
This morning, it’s a 5-minute drive to another country – Vatican City! With our expert local guide we’ll tour the Vatican Museums, a treasure trove of ancient Greek sculptures, medieval tapestries and Renaissance paintings. Our visit culminates in the Sistine Chapel, the room where the Pope is elected. We enter in total silence, not wanting to disturb Michelangelo’s famed frescoes depicting stories from the Bible and the “End of Times.” Next we visit St. Peter’s Basilica, by far the largest church in Christendom. We’ll see Michelangelo’s Pieta, sculpted when he was just 24, as well as Bernini’s seven-story bronze canopy located above the main altar.
Tonight, get ready for our Gala Farewell Party at the Casina di Macchia Madama overlooking all of Rome. It’s an extravagant evening with flowing wines and dancing to our own orchestra. Here’s a toast to our new friends, to our tour guide, to Italy! BB, D
DAY 10 (Tuesday) - Flight Home
This morning we board our flight home, but we realize we’re taking a little piece of Italy back with us. Thanks for traveling with the Perillo family, and please return soon. BB

Barry and Barbara B.
From Baltimore MD
The afternoon that we arrived in Rome on our Perillo Tour, we settled into our lovely room at our Hotel Cicerone and then went off to explore the city. We were to meet some friends later on at St. Peter's Basilica. They told us to meet them at 5 PM at the "big door on the right as you are facing the church". When we arrived, there were hundreds of people straining to get through that door, but no one was using the door on the left.
"Why not just go through this door?" we asked our friends. "Then we won't have to crowd through the other one." It was then that they pointed to the sign above the door: Sacra Puerta, it said-the sacred door. We had arrived in Rome during the Jubilee celebration, the one year in twenty-five when the Sacred Door is opened and all who go through it are blessed.
Even though we are not Catholic, we are also not people to pass up a blessing whenever we can get one! We lined up along with the rest of the pilgrims to receive ours.

George D. and Family
From Melville, NY
I just recently returned from the Perillo 10-day Vesuvius tour and want to compliment you on the quality of the tour, accommodations and professionalism of our tour guide and bus driver.
The tour for my family was a dream vacation. Raffaella took care of all arrangements seamlessly so that our transfers, hotels and site visits went very smoothly. The private local tour guides were outstanding and the love of their regions' history and culture were clearly evident.
This was my first experience with a planned tour group and I was apprehensive about having to go on a schedule with a busload of people. At the end of the 10-day tour, I was pleasantly surprised how the majority of the people meshed in the trip as we shared stories and laughs; and, how the best way to get a true flavor of the many cities and sites of Italy was through the guided tour. Thanks again to you and your staff for making this such a memorable trip!
