Hawaii is as widely varied as it is deeply historical. From the northern alps of Piedmont to the Mediterranean beaches of Amalfi, from the sophistication of Lombardy to the magic of Veneto and the friendly chaos of Campania – there is something for everyone in the Islands of Hawaii.
HAWAII– “The Big Island”
Kamehameha the Great, the King who unified the Hawaiian Islands, was born and raised here on Hawai’i, also known as the Big Island. Hawaii’s Big Island is also home to, among other things, a list of fascinating anomalies. With 11 of the world’s 13 climate zones, the Big Island really does have everything: Lush rain forests, arid deserts, black sand beaches and snow-capped mountaintops. Famous for its active Kilauea volcano, Kona coffee, macadamia nuts, and orchids, the Big Island is also home to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, the famous Ironman Triathlon and even cowboys, called Paniolo!
Hawaii is larger than all of the other Hawaiian Islands combined, so it’s best to explore by car.
There’s so much to see: White, green and black sand beaches, an active lava flow, a Kona coffee farm.... There is a lot to do as well: Stargaze atop majestic Mauna Kea, swim with dolphins, golf on one of 20 magnificent courses, some designed by the biggest names in golf, watersports, tennis, hiking. The list is longer than you’ll have time to stay, but the aloha spirit will always welcome you back
