Today you’ll fly to Honolulu on the island of Oahu, one of the single most dreamed of vacation spots in the world. You’ll be met with a cool, aromatic, flower-lei greeting right at the airport!
Our home for the next 3 days, the Grand Dame of Hawaiian accommodations – the Moana Surfrider! (You don’t have to be THAT old to remember the radio show airing from its courtyard – Hawaii Calls.)
Your Perillo reps will be on-hand to help you to settle into your room in paradise. ALOHA!
The brilliant Hawaiian sunrise beckons you to a great breakfast. Next, meet your tour guide for a short familiarization talk on your Hawaiian adventure.
After breakfast we’re off to Pearl Harbor to commemorate the “day that will live in infamy” - December 7, 1941. Few Americans who set foot on the Arizona Memorial can avoid a few goose bumps. We continue on to the historic sightseeing tour of downtown Honolulu, followed by a panoramic tour of the beautiful ‘Iolani Palace, the only true Royal Palace on American soil.
Tonight, enjoy an à la carte dinner at Duke’s Waikiki Restaurant, named for legendary surfer Duke Kahanamoku. Enjoy a real Mai Tai (umbrella included) from the Barefoot Bar! Wine, beer or soft drinks also included with your fine Hawaiian dinner
After breakfast, the day is all yours.
It’s said that surfing was invented on Waikiki Beach. The warm shallow water and gentle waves will make a quick surfer out of you too! (Elvis didn’t choose any old beach for his famous movies.)
After a free afternoon we’ll enjoy oceanfront dining at one of the finest restaurants in all Hawaii: Orchids at the Halekulani Hotel. Now is a good time to remember: E Mahalo Kakou I Ka Mea Loa’a… Let us be thankful for what we have.
This afternoon we jet to Maui, the “Valley Island”. In 1778, Captain James Cook arrived in “Mowee” ending the idyllic life of the Polynesian natives. In Cook’s wake came traders, missionaries and whalers.
You’ll love the Westin Maui. It’s fancy but casual, and situated along Ka’anapali Beach, rated as one of the best beaches ON EARTH by Condé Nast magazine!
We’ll settle in our room followed by à la carte dinner with wine or soft drinks at the restaurant located at your resort. Of course, gratuities are included.
After breakfast, ask your tour leader for suggestions today. Try a hula lesson...or how about a ukulele lesson?
Afraid to jump off the world-famous “Black Rock “cliff? Then just watch the kids do it. There’s also fantastic snorkeling along its base—like swimming in the world’s best tropical fish tank!
Later this afternoon, we board our smooth catamaran for a sunset cruise. Enjoy Tradewind sailing with phenomenal views of West Maui, Molokai and Lanai. Included our hot and cold hearty pupus with maitais, beer, sodas, a great crew that’s at your service.
If it’s whale season, mid- December thru mid-April, perhaps we’ll be lucky to see a humpback or two.
Another glorious day in paradise!
After a day of leisure, bring your appetites to our Hawaiian Luau Spectacular! It’s the hottest show on the island. Our luau takes you on a journey through the islands of Polynesia.
Witness the authentic dances and music of Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, Tahiti and Hawaii. Enjoy an open bar and an all-you-can-eat traditional luau featuring a superb combination of Hawaiian specialties, complete within an Imu ceremony
This morning we’re off to Kauai, the “Garden Island”. Our home for the next three nights is the deluxe Grand Hyatt Kauai. It is not just brochure language to say this is one of the finest resorts in the world!
The rest of the afternoon is all yours. And you’ll spend the next three days filled with sunshine, swimming in sparkling pools or just exploring our hotel’s lush manicured grounds. This evening, you’ll love dining at Tidepools, where contemporary island cuisine is served. As always, great wine, soft drinks and tips are included.
A free day to “hang loose” on the Garden Island!
An Option: Real excitement aboard a six-passenger jet-powered helicopter at very special discounted rates. You’ll see amazing panoramas that are otherwise inaccessible. Your tour director will be happy to advise you of other available activities.
Dinner is on your own tonight.
This morning we’ll visit Waimea Canyon, also known as “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” Its vast views and imposing stature share similarities with its mainland cousin, but this canyon has a personality all its own. A day of unsurpassed beauty!
Afterwards, we’ll visit Kauai Coffee’s Koloa Estate. With 3100 acres and 4 million coffee trees, it’s the largest coffee farm in America. Another spectacular dinner with wine at Zagat’s 2009 “Best Restaurant on Kauai” - Tidepools. Bon appétit!
Upon our arrival on the Big Island, we’ll check into the Fairmont Orchid Hotel. Accommodations like this are what separate Perillo’s Hawaii from all others!
In 2020, this super-deluxe accommodation came in 4th on Condé Nast Traveler’s “Readers’ Choice Award”. See if you agree as you explore this pristine, 32-acre beachfront property. Dinner is on your own tonight.
After our great Fairmont breakfast, we explore Volcanoes National Park, including the currently active flows of Kilauea and Mauna Loa, two of the most active volcanoes in the world. Imagine watching your island grow larger as the lava spews from the bowels of the earth and cools into future fields and forests. Don’t touch the lava...it’s hot!
Following the Volcano Park, we’ll visit the famous Volcano Winery for a wine tasting and a light lunch.
Our last day in paradise at Fairmont. It was rated the 4th best resort in all of Hawaii in 2021 by Condé Nast. What do YOU think?
Later this evening, we’ll head across the street to Tommy Bahama Restaurant for some great island cuisine filled with unbelievable sunset views.
Unfortunately, our time in Hawaii must come to an end. Enjoy the rest of the day at the Fairmont Orchid and catch a few more rays of the Hawaiian sun before your transfer to the airport.
We hope to see you again on another Perillo Tour to Italy, Spain or Hawaii again! As the Hawaiians say, “Mahalo Nui Loa!” (Thank you very much)!
