The city of Noto is found at the south-eastern corner of Sicily. Listed as one of the "must-see" parts of the region, Noto is a wonderful small town possessing incredible Baroque churches, houses and palaces.
During a major earthquake in 1693, Noto's "old town" was nearly completely destroyed. The rebuilt town of Noto, only several miles away from its historic center, pays special attention to design, functionality and architectural harmony with its past.
It's no wonder the principal activity amongst tourists is to peacefully wander the narrow streets of Noto, admiring it's golden-colored stone buildings, incredible facades and amazing balconies.
