Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart USA - Taormina

SUNDAY - Boarding your overnight flight, you’re off on a journey that will remain etched in your memory forever!

Day 2 - Arrive in Taormina - Afternoon at Leisure - Dinner in Hotel

MONDAY - Benvenuti a Taormina! Your Perillo representative will be at the airport to greet you. We are pleased to offer complimentary transfers from the Catania airport to your hotel at scheduled times.

This afternoon you’ll have some time to relax or better yet, explore this gorgeous city. There’s so much to see and do!

Tonight, you’ll meet your tour leader for a brief orientation and welcome drink. After orientation, you’ll enjoy a dinner in your hotel.

Day 3 - Taormina - Mt. Etna Winery Visit & Tasting - Light Lunch

TUESDAY - This morning, you’ll meet one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Mt. Etna is in an almost constant state of eruption. But don’t worry – we’ll keep a safe distance!

The fertile volcanic soil supports extensive agriculture, orchards, and vineyards. So, let’s visit a local winery for a tour, a wine tasting and a light lunch!

Tonight, you can enjoy dinner on your own. Have you tried pesce spada yet? Swordfish is Sicily’s favorite seafood.

Day 4 - Taormina Walking Tour

WEDNESDAY - Discover the charm of Taormina on a guided walking tour with your private local expert. As you stroll through its picturesque streets, you’ll uncover the rich layers of history and culture that have shaped this captivating town.

A highlight of your visit is the awe-inspiring Ancient Greek Theater, perfectly perched to offer panoramic vistas of the coastline and beyond—an unforgettable sight.

After the tour, the rest of the day and evening are yours to explore, relax, or simply soak up the atmosphere of this enchanting Sicilian gem.

Day 5 - Taormina Godfather Tour - Lunch in Savoca

THURSDAY - This morning, depart for the iconic Sicilian mountain villages made famous by F.F. Coppola’s legendary film The Godfather. Your first stop is Savoca, a hidden medieval gem. See the world-famous Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone asked for Apollonia’s hand in marriage, and see the hilltop church where their wedding scene was filmed.

Afterward, enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

Continue to Forza D’Agrò, another picturesque village featured in the film. Stroll through its historic square, ancient monastery, and centuries-old churches. Walk along quiet, timeworn streets and soak in the authentic atmosphere of old-world Sicily.

Tonight, enjoy dinner on your own.

Day 6 - Taormina - Cefalù - Palermo

FRIDAY - Today you’ll head to Palermo, with a stop in the picturesque coastal town of Cefalù. Begin with a guided visit to the stunning 12th-century Norman Cathedral, famous for its fortress-like design and glowing Byzantine mosaics. Legend says King Roger II built it in thanks for surviving a storm at sea.

After the tour, enjoy free time to explore Cefalù’s charming streets, browse shops, relax by the sea, or have lunch at a seaside café.

In the afternoon, continue to Palermo and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon and evening on your own.

Day 7 - Palermo - Marsala - Saline Ettore Infersa - Lunch - Trapani - Palermo

SATURDAY - This morning, head to Marsala, known for its wine and rich history. Explore its historic center with Punic ruins, Arab-style streets, baroque churches, and Garibaldi landmarks like Porta Garibaldi.

Next, visit and have lunch at Saline Ettore Infersa, where you’ll see a 16th-century windmill and learn about Phoenician-era sea salt production along the scenic salt pans.

Continue to Trapani, a coastal city with deep history, known for its salt beds, baroque churches, and the Church of Purgatory, home to the “Misteri” statues.

Enjoy some free time to browse shops with local crafts before returning to Palermo.

Dinner on your own tonight.

Day 8 - Palermo - City Tour - Dinner in Hotel

Visit the striking Fontana Pretoria before ending at the historic “Quattro Canti,” the heart of old Palermo.

This afternoon is free to explore or relax—perhaps enjoy an Aperol Spritz in a charming piazza. Dinner is served at your hotel tonight - share stories, toast to friendship, and maybe plan your next Perillo tour!

Mr. H.P.

My wife and I took your tour in may. I just wanted to tell about the fantastic experience we had with our group and the exceptional guides at every venue. we were quick to learn the first day with Irenea that it wasn't just a job it was there passion and there life. All the guides Mauro, Max and the rest (that I can't remember their names) went beyond anything we could have expected. They made our trip worth every penny that we spent
